Recipient of Faculty Teaching Award. Co-author $650,000 M. J. Murdock grant.

Community Service: Numerous outreach programs for schools on the impact of poverty on teaching and learning. OSPI committees for Elementary testing development. Accreditation evaluator.

Statement: Our politics have become too polarized and divisive. We can do better. This will require thoughtful people working together addressing common problems. I believe I have the experience and skills to do this well. Economic development, health care access, resources for families facing serious mental health and addiction issues, and good schools will be my priorities. We need to protect this beautiful corner of the Northwest; I’ll oppose the silicon smelter proposed for Newport.
