Other Professional Experience: Mike is serving as the Chief Deputy Treasurer at Spokane County and has wide range of experience in a variety of positions, including:  Military Police officer in the US Army, dock foreman for a freight company, Controller for a music company, Financial Analyst for a large medical company and Assistant Director of Finance at STA.

Education: Mike Volz earned a Bachelor degree with a double concentration in accounting and finance from EWU, a Master degree from Gonzaga and is a licensed CPA and certified in Lean management.   Mike also teaches at Whitworth University.

Statement: Mike Volz, 53, is a veteran, has over 30 years’ experience in the public and private sectors, degrees from EWU and Gonzaga, and is a CPA. Mike and his wife Diane have been married for 28 years and have three children.

Long-term resident and current 6th District Representative, Mike Volz knows Spokane County and the 6th District. Because of his broad financial background and commitment to education, Mike has earned positions on the Appropriations, Education, and Capital Budget Committees. He has been a strong proponent of fiscal responsibility and opposed tax increases and needless regulation.
