Statement: I’m a 30-year Boeing employee and union member (Machinists District 751), former Pastor of The United House of Prayer for All People, a community activist, leader, an organizer, and a volunteer chaplain for Seattle Police Department. I’m a devoted father and husband. Right now, there are zero African Americans in the State Senate and the 34th LD has never elected a person of color. It’s time. I’m endorsed by Machinists District 751.

I’m running because I believe we can do better. Our community members and State needs us to do better.

Our district needs properly funded and strong educational opportunities. Our Pre-K through Grade 12 schools, colleges, technical schools, and union apprenticeship programs are pillars of the community. Our teachers and education professionals need to be able to live in the communities they serve. As a person of color and as a father of two kids who attend public schools, we must solve the achievement gap between white students and students of color.

We need to fix our broken and regressive tax system and stop giving tax breaks to huge corporations with no way to get that money back if they don’t follow through on the deal.
