Statement: Born and raised right here in the 34th! I’m the son of refugees, where hardship was my lived experience. Despite great adversity, I broke the cycle of poverty through support from public services and hard work to become a Senior Manager at Microsoft. I’m dedicated to this community that didn’t give up on me, and have a proven passion to build a society where everyone gets their fair share.

I represent a bold new generation of leadership. If elected, I’d be the first person of color to represent the 34th despite tremendous diversity in our district. I’d also be the first Vietnamese American ever elected to a state office in Washington.

I believe legislators need to be held accountable: tax reform isn’t an option; it’s mandatory to relieve the burden on working class families. Funding priorities must start with fully funding education to close the achievement gap, and solutions for affordable housing must include mass transit. Also, healthcare for all is a fundamental right. Hold me accountable.

Finally, I’m a Democratic Dad with a young family, a wife and two rambunctious toddlers who are the best reflections of why I work hard to make life in our community better.
