Statement: As your Senator I am proud to have introduced Constitutional Amendments Protect our Right to Hunt and Fish (SJR 8206) and Ban an Income Tax (SJR 8204). I will fight against the constant call to limit our gun rights and for more taxes on income, mileage, car tabs and property. I am at the forefront in the war against Sound Transit gouging people on our car tabs. I will work to give us the right to elect our own representatives on the Sound Transit Board, to allow our communities to opt out of ST3, and to force Sound Transit to go back to the people if they go over budget.

I sponsored legislation to reduce or eliminate property taxes for seniors on fixed incomes. As a member of the Veterans and Military Affairs Commission, and the father of three US Marines, I know the importance of honoring veterans.

Funding education is a priority. I will vote for plans that fund education and reduce our property taxes in the process. Allocating funds per student will increase funds in our district for teacher salaries.

I ask for your support to continue the fight against more taxes and to preserve parents’ rights.
