Statement: Sitting
in traffic for hours, knowing there are better solutions to our transportation
mess, convinced me to run! There is an urgent need for smarter, cost-effective transportation
and education spending, especially with budget and tax challenges affecting
education.
Education
solutions require the governor, teachers’ union and legislators work together.
This means an end to closed door negotiations; they must be open and
transparent. The dual mission for transportation is clear: reduce congestion; offer
less expensive and more convenient mass transit. I will never support income or
capital gains taxes, as we cannot keep raising taxes for government
irresponsibility.
