Legal/Judicial Experience: Elected South District Court Judge 1988; Municipal Court Judge; Superior Court Commissioner. Appeared as a lawyer in the Washington State Court of Appeals, Washington State Supreme Court. Deputy Prosecutor; Public defender.

Education: Graduate Southern Oregon College, 1972; Law degree from University of Puget Sound Law School, 1975

Community Service: Active community member; organizer of youth sports and Ilwaco High School Sports Boosters. Volunteer Judge YMCA high school trial competition, Olympia.

Statement: Doug Goelz has lived in Pacific County since 1980. Along with the above judicial experience he also serves as Pacific County Superior Court Constitutional Pro Tem. Doug has been married for over 35 years to his wife, Mary. His daughter, Darcey, is an attorney in Seattle and his son, Joseph, is an engineer in San Diego.

He was elected by his peers to the Board of a Statewide Judge's Association. While serving on this board he has given a voice to the rural cities and counties throughout the State.
