Elected Experience: Worked for CongressmanThomas E. Petri in Washington D.C. in 2010.

Other Professional Experience: Owner and Operator of Nothing Bundt Cakes on the South Hill. Worked for the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office. 

Education: Graduated with a B.A. from UCLA in 2011.Also, holds a Commercial Pilot Rating.

Community Service: He actively Supports Embrace Washington, helping aged out Foster Kids. He supports UGM, Wishing Star Foundation, and many local schools and Non-Profits. In the last two years, he has donated more than $18,000 to local organizations and non-profits, supporting school bands, disease research, and homeless shelters.        

Statement: At the age of two, Sam Canty was adopted from a Romanian Orphanage; he became an American citizen at the age of 14. He fervently believes government exists to serve the people and that government has lost sight of that most fundamental principle. Government should be responsible for providing defense against enemies, and for providing and maintaining infrastructure and law and order. Laws must not abridge fundamental rights, must not be unduly burdensome, and must embody common sense. Sam strongly favors spurring economic growth by supporting jobs and small businesses, and not burdening business with excessive regulations and taxation.
