Statement: The Legislature is being held in contempt for failing to comply with the education funding requirements of McCleary. We must reverse current practice: fund schools first and seek other ways to fund non-education entities. I will work to ensure that all Washington students attend a well-funded school of their family’s choice, regardless of income or zip code. I am a strong supporter of public safety, mental health/crisis intervention, and adequate public transportation to connect the 34th with downtown Seattle and the greater region. I support closing corporate tax loopholes and oppose having a state income tax.
