Other Professional Experience: As a young man, he worked in construction, farmed, guided rafting trips, and worked nights at a burn center to pay his way through college.  He has 32 years in public education as a teacher, principal, and superintendent.

Education: Garn Christensen graduated from an alternative school and has since completed three college degrees including a doctorate from WSU.

Community Service: His civic service includes community art and music festivals, Kiwanis, Rotary, chamber of commerce, and is a volunteer on an international humanitarian disaster response team.

Statement: Garn is fiscally conservative, socially moderate, and believes government must focus on efficiency, quality, and equity in all policy and funding decisions. His record as superintendent demonstrates success in managing our tax dollars, community resources, and educating our children.

Garn believes in the values of civic virtue, government transparency, opposition to corruption, and that all voices count. Government should not be involved in people’s personal lives; but rather its role is to empower the individual. He believes gun control should be for those with a history of criminal activity, and businesses need the least amount of regulation possible.
