Statement: As a long time
resident of this District, husband, proud parent of two daughters, and
successful small business owner I understand the needs of our community. I
bring real life, real world, and real work experience with a long track record
of standing up for what is right.
My life has been spent in public service. My time in the Navy and serving as a
lead criminal investigator for the EPA bringing criminals to justice, have
instilled in me a deep sense of civic duty. I believe in citizen legislators,
not career politicians, and I unapologetically place country and community
before political affiliation and special interests.
Unfortunately, politics has become a popularity contest where our partisan
legislators chase after votes instead of pursuing effective policies. We see
the results: gridlock preventing creative solutions. Issues like the opioid and
addiction crisis, violence, rising cost of living, transportation,
infrastructure neglect, and ecosystem degradation go unsolved. Independent, I
will serve to bridge the political divide. To insure true independence from the
influence of money, I only accept small contributions, only from individuals,
and answer only to the people.
