Ted Cummings

Elected Experience: Chairman of the Clerical and Technical Unit for United Steel Workers Local 338. Executive Board Member on the Spokane Regional Labor Council.

Other Professional Experience: Employed at Kaiser Aluminum since 1988.  Currently a Mechanical Lab Technician in the Trentwood Physical Testing Lab. Co-Owner of Pell Creek Land & Livestock, where we raise certified angus cattle, and grow hay and timber.

Education: Gonzaga Prep High School 1979, Spokane Community College AA 1997.

Community Service: Donor at Inland Northwest Blood Center.

Statement: The American Dream was once achievable. Today, shortsighted legislation and stagnant wages make it more and more difficult for people to achieve it. We must maintain manufacturing jobs, support apprenticeship programs and trade schools to allow us to keep Washington competitive, and keep our citizens employed.

I believe in the power of coming together and getting things done. We must work to find solutions for our health care and infrastructure needs. I plan to use my experience working in conflict resolution and contract negotiation as a union representative and a business owner to serve this community.
