Statement: Quality of life has steadily declined. 30 years ago a Washingtonian could easily afford tuition at any public college or university, find reliable work that paid a living wage, afford health plans with small or zero copay, and purchase a home for their family.

Even attaining one of these today is a feat. Reliable work is rare and precious. High deductible health plans make up most of the insurance offered by employers and sold in the marketplace. Higher education has become nearly unattainable without severe debt. Purchasing and maintaining a home is out of reach for most due to a meteoric rise in cost and abusive taxes.

Our leadership under the two parties has let us down. We've been bled slowly and conditioned to accept it without protest. I didn't go to an esteemed university. I dropped out of a state university once the cost became too much to handle. Medical debt has nearly bankrupted me.

I am not a career politician, I am one of you. I am not encumbered by political obligations to any persons or corporate interests. This year let us our voices be heard. No parties, just people.
