Elected Experience: Commissioner, Clallam County; Member, State Board of Natural Resources; Commissioner, Port of Port Angeles.

Other Professional Experience: U.S. Coast Guard Officer for 28 years, retired as a Captain (O-6), commanded three ships. Retired federal Senior Executive - 6 years civilian service in the Departments of Transportation, Labor, and Homeland Security.

Education: U.S. Coast Guard Academy - BS; George Washington University - MPA; Secretary of Defense Strategic Studies Group.

Community Service: Vice Chair, Clallam Economic Development Corp., President, Sequim Sunrise Rotary Club,Chairman, NW Peninsula Friends of NRA; Former Director, Boys & Girls Club of OlyPen; Former Chair, OlyPen Chapter Military Officers Association.

Statement: Jim McEntire is an experienced, thoughtful, fair minded leader. Jim shares our values and we can trust him to prioritize local economic development.

Jim understands the needs of rural Washington, he knows that the "Seattle Agenda" has hurt our community. Local voters support Jim's view that we can have both: a thriving economy and a healthy environment. Jim is a fiscal conservative who will be careful with tax dollars. He opposes increasing taxes, especially property taxes. Jim has a long record of civic achievements through working constructively with local government and community leaders – exactly what we need now!
