Elected Experience: As a Mercer Island City Councilmember, Wendy brings her progressive values to her board roles on the regional Eastside Transportation Partnership, King County Conservation District, and Emergency Management Advisory Boards.  Council committee service includes Parks and Recreation, Sustainability, Diversity and Inclusion, and Organizational Effectiveness.

Other Professional Experience: Wendy has been a public relations professional for 25 years, currently the Community Outreach Manager at Puget Sound Energy.

Education: MA in Public Administration from the UW Evans School; BA in Psychology from UC, Irvine; Leadership Eastside.

Community Service: Mercer Island Utility Board, Women’s Funding Alliance, Boy and Girl Scouts, EarthShare Washington, PTAs, and Rotary.

Statement: I am a collaborative, independent thinker committed to bringing people together to solve problems. As a working mom and wife of a Bellevue School District high school teacher, I will work to ensure the voices of women and families are heard in Olympia. My priorities include ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed in our future workforce, improving transportation mobility, preserving our environment, and protecting our communities from gun violence.
