Statement: Serving as the Jefferson County Treasurer has been a privilege and honor.

In my first term, our county banking services contract was unexpectedly terminated by the national bank we used. I led the successful transition in an unfortunate situation while my office staff and I maintained office performance expectations. The endeavor was extensive as it involved every county department and special taxing district as well as every aspect of our electronic and physical banking. Under my leadership, I also integrated our online property tax payments with our property tax database. This ensures payment amounts are accurate, applied correctly via an import rather than manual entry, and saves staff time.

As we look forward to the next four years, it’s imperative that the Treasurer and Auditor implement a new accounting software program that will ensure reliability and improve accessibility by departments and districts for financial information. Improvements to excise tax processing are also a priority.

I am dedicated to the integrity, efficiency and transparency of all of our systems, information and financial accounting. My experience, education and organizational skills in combination with my aptitude and perseverance make me well-equipped to lead the Treasurer’s Office for the next four years.
