Mindy Walker

Legal/Judicial Experience: Current Judge Pro Tem, Bainbridge Island Municipal and Kitsap District Court. Ms. Walker has practiced in Federal, Tribal, Municipal, and 11 Washington State County Courts. She is currently partner with Ramirez and Walker, PLLC

Other Professional Experience: Ms. Walker served as wildland firefighter as a hotshot. 

Education: International Law and Political Studies, Trinity University; Juris Doctorate, Gonzaga.

Community Service: Ms. Walker has a long-standing devotion to humanitarian service. She has been an aid worker in Ghana, DR Congo, and Greece. She currently sits on the board of Love More Foundation, as well as the international service chair for Port Townsend Sunrise Rotary.

Statement: Courage: I have a proven ability to address dangers and difficulties. I have worked as a wildland firefighter on a hotshot crew, making decisions that effected the survival of my crew. Traveling and volunteering have enriched my worldview and perspective on life. On the bench I will be a thoughtful and principled leader, having courage to stand apart, make necessary decisions, and remain impartial.

Integrity: I am committed to making fair, balanced, neutral decisions. I will treat each person accessing the court with courtesy and civility. Office policies and procedures will maintain fairness and equality for all. I’ve earned my reputation as a diligent advocate and conscientious practitioner, assuring due process before the law.

Service: I am seeking a position of service to the whole of Jefferson County. The service of a judge includes providing compassionate and professional attentiveness while enforcing best practices that ensure all parties appearing before the judge are truly heard. It includes applying the law to the facts fairly and correctly. Servant leadership is a way of life and is the lens through which I view the role of judicial leadership.
