Professionally, he co-owns the NextDoor Gastropub.  In addition, he manages his contracting company, J. Oppelt Development & General Construction, OOT Properties, LLC focusing on downtown development, JAM Properties, LLC, working on the Lincoln Theater project, Moss, a Northwest clothing & accessories boutique, and is a part-owner of the Port Angeles Lefties baseball team.

Statement: Jacob is running for City Council to support the community of Port Angeles and invest in its future.  With many years of hard work, entrepreneurship and community service experience, he would like to participate in City leadership on a larger scale and believes it is time for new energy in the City's government.

Jacob will facilitate direct and open communications between neighbors, neighborhoods, the downtown district, businesses and organizations both large and small, and the Council offices.  Jacob feels strongly that we, as a community, must be inclusive and forward thinking in all of our public safety investments, environmental initiatives, educational priorities, transportation solutions, and housing strategies. He welcomes conversation and discussion with all residents to achieve success within the city of Port Angeles.

Jacob is passionate about our community and the growth it has achieved and continues to experience.  He is running for City Council to help continue the City's focus on quality of life, public safety, a business friendly atmosphere and job creation.  His goal is to ensure that current and future residents experience a great place to live, work and raise a family.
