2017 General Election Voters' Guide

Coming Soon
Robert (Bob) Weiss

Elected Experience:  This is my first attempt at running for public office.

Other Professional Experience:  I have been an engineer at Boeing for the last 26 years.

Education:  I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Trenton State College in 1982.

Community Service:  I served on the Marysville Mayor's Salary Review Commission for two terms. I also participated in a Citizen's Academy offered by the Marysville Police Department. The course includsed a ride along. I found this course to be informative.

Statement: My name is Robert Weiss. I have been living in Marysville since 1998. Overall, I am happy with the town, the local government, police and emergency services. My main disappointments with life in Marysville are traffic flow and the general conditions of the roads. At this point, these are inconveniences, not major issues. I would like a position on the City Council to improve on these two key issues and to help make the City of Marysville a better place to live in general. I also hate to see commercial properties, some of them fairly large sitting vacant. Can the City help turn these from vacant properties to something that adds to the community? I’d like to think so and I’d like to participate in the process.

Background: I am an engineer currently employed @ Boeing. During my time @ Boeing, I’ve served as a SPEEA (engineer’s union) Council Rep for over 10 years. I’ve served on the Mayor’s Salary Commission for 2 terms, participated in the Marysville Citizens Academy offered by the Marysville Police Department. After growing up outside Trenton, NJ, I’ve lived in Arizona and Texas prior to coming to the Northwest. Thank you for your consideration.
