Statement: As a teacher for Everett Public Schools, the community and its future means a lot to me. Each interested party within our community should know their voice is being heard and they are getting the most accurate and up-to-date information at meetings and in communications.

One way to ensure a positive future for the community is through smart spending - spending the people’s money wisely. Wise spending doesn’t look to the short term alone, but rather looks at potential savings of longer-lasting alternatives for each action.

We also need to be aware of transparency in our meetings and actions. Behind-the-scenes meetings and agreements must be acknowledged and reported to grow trust in our local government. Agendas should be easily accessible online and shared as appropriate so that citizens are made aware of and have an opportunity to participate in upcoming actions.

The future of this community depends on the education of our children and a trust in our local government.
