Statement: Running for County Council was a big decision for me. I have a beautiful wife, two active boys and two businesses to run. Ultimately, it was my frustration with the unwillingness of the current Council to consider ideas different from their own agenda and the negative impacts those decisions are having on families, farmers and businesses across our community that spurred me to action.

In my businesses, I analyze the costs and benefits of my decisions, develop multiple solutions to complex problems, negotiate positive outcomes with dissimilar groups, and evaluate the consequences of my actions — all within a fixed budget. I’ll approach service as a County Council member the exact same way.

Mayors from the cities bordering District 3 have already indicated their confidence in my abilities, including Scott Korthuis (Lynden), Jim Ackerman (Nooksack), John Perry (Everson) and Bob Bromley (Sumas).

District 3 is broad and diverse. It needs representation from someone who’s not afraid to stand up for the people. Someone who listens to learn and uses that information to create a balanced solution. Someone with passion, energy and drive to make a difference. I believe that person is me. I’d be honored to earn your vote.
