Statement: Mike is a legislator who will phone you back, whom you can trust to listen to your concerns, and who will not vote to raise taxes.

He has earned a reputation for fighting corruption and waste in government. A retired teacher, Mike’s Becca Laws continue to keep kids in school and off the streets, and have saved the taxpayers nearly one billion dollars. Mike’s prison reforms stopped Pierce County from being a dumping ground for felons. He led efforts to reform welfare and created the Office of Fraud and Accountability that uncovered millions of dollars of welfare fraud.

On local issues, Mike gets the job done. He stopped Fort Steilacoom Park from being developed and saved Fort Steilacoom at Western State Hospital. When Anderson Island lost power in 2009, Mike brought government agencies together to restore power to island residents. Mike is known for working with both parties to get results.

Mike is committed to reforming government spending, ethics laws, and welfare and criminal justice programs; and to improving student performance in our schools. He knows that small businesses are the key to job growth. He understands that he represents you – not government or special interests. Re-elect Mike Carrell.
