Andy Billig

Elected Experience: Andy Billig was elected as our State Representative in 2010. He is vice chair of the House Transportation Committee and serves on the House Education Committee.

Other Professional Experience: Andy is co-owner of the Spokane Indians Baseball Team. Under his leadership, the Indians have earned a reputation for outstanding customer service, community involvement and business excellence.

Education: B.A. Government, Georgetown University

Community Service: Past and current: Innovate Washington Board of Directors, YMCA Board, Spokane Human Services Advisory Board, Bike to Work Spokane, Greater Spokane Incorporated volunteer, Big Brother, and volunteer youth sports coach.

Statement: As our State Representative, Andy Billig supported bipartisan, balanced budgets that protect education, create jobs and safeguard programs critical to Spokane.

Andy is co-owner of the Spokane Indians Baseball Team and he used his 20 years of business experience to help pass job-creating legislation. Successes include building a four-year medical school in Spokane and investments in vital transportation projects that keep our local economy moving.

The proud parent of a 7th grader, Andy has demonstrated a commitment to great public schools by supporting increased resources for education and an improved system for teacher evaluation and support. Andy is also dedicated to a healthy Spokane. He passed landmark legislation to protect the Spokane River and aquifer, advocated for women’s reproductive health rights, and championed programs that ensure health care access for seniors and children.

As a State Senator, Andy will build on his proven record. He will continue to represent our community values of justice, freedom, safety and equal opportunity while maintaining a clear focus on jobs and a prosperous Spokane for everyone.
