Statement: I've been a bold advocate for the poor, disabled, and disenfranchised and helped implement progressive, smart policy for 12 years as your State Representative. With your support, I'm excited to continue this work in the State Senate.

I've never been afraid to take on tough challenges. I've worked for 30 years leading nonprofit organizations, including 18 years as Executive Director of the Pierce County AIDS Foundation. I'm also the only candidate in this race who is both pro-choice and pro-marriage equality.

As a legislator, I've championed funding for the University of WA-Tacoma, renovated and restored all five minor league baseball stadiums in WA, and saved the Washington State History Museum. Most recently, I've helped secure funding for Community Health Care's new clinic on the Hilltop and secured new support for mental health services in Tacoma.

I'll keep standing up for the less fortunate, and will work to expand access to quality education for learners of all ages, while protecting our environment, expanding health care access, and getting people back to work. Endorsed by Debbie Regala, Laurie Jinkins, Brian Sonntag, Marilyn Strickland, Pat McCarthy, Washington State Labor Council, Planned Parenthood, Children's Campaign Fund, and more. I ask for your vote.
