Statement: When I was first elected as your State Represenative 12 years ago, I ran on a platform of strong support for our schools, safer neighborhoods, protecting our seniors and most vulnerable, and helping our small businesses thrive. This year, I seek your support for State Senator to continue to work on the issues we care about.
In Olympia, my record speaks for itself; I have sponsored and passed legislation to increase prison terms for those who kill others while driving under the influence, I have allowed principals, teachers, and staff the ability to know if a juvenile sex offender is attending their school in order to protect our children, and have worked to help those who are victims of domestic violence by lengthening prison terms for serial abusers.
I have supported transportation budgets to make our highways safer and less congested, I have fought to protect our local schools and rural hospitals from losing additional state funding, and I have introduced innovative ideas to create jobs, try to bring the cost down on prescription drugs, and cap credit card interest rates.
Most importantly, I am known as a legislator who cares for those he serves. Your vote would honor me.
